Editors Note: The Hillsboro Globe is republishing relevant restaurant reviews in anticipation of the upcoming prom. Casey Tomlin, a former charter alumnus of the Hillsboro Globe reviews a popular place to eat before prom.

Union station is a former railroad terminal that’s now a hotel that opened in 1900 to serve the passenger operations 0f the eight railroads the it provided a service to go through Nashville, Tennessee. It’s design placed it to the east and above a natural railroad that cut through that area of Nashville. The tower contained an early mechanical digital clock, but that was replaced in the future years.

The station reached its peak usage during WW2 when they were sending out thousands and thousands of U.S troops. After all of this, the railroad service in the U.S went into a decline. Union Station is a high end hotel where people request to stay. It’s a 5 star hotel with great people and great food!

Inside the hotel there is a fine dining restaurant called Carters.

Its a 4.7 star restaurant where they have great service and great food. A lot of famous people come stay at the station and go to this place to eat. Carter’s is known for their amazing food and drinks!

The food is cooked to perfection! The chefs here are trained to make you the best food that you want. During our visit we chose to try the shrimp tacos with the Mac and cheese as the side. The shrimp tacos had a special holder so they wouldn’t fall off the plate. The Mac and cheese was very rich and cheesy. It had the perfect amount of cheese on it. The Executive Chef’s name is Will Lyons and he’s been working there many years. He respects the art of being a chef and is well liked by both staff and customers.

Carter’s has a great and relaxing atmosphere and the bartenders are very outgoing. They have big, comfortable couches and chairs that you can drink your drink from the bar and feel relaxed.

Immerse yourself in the rich history of Union Station, dining within original granite stone walls, 22-foot-high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling arched windows that flood the space with natural light. Experience the excitement of downtown Nashville with sweeping views of Broadway, before settling into Stationairy’s warm decor. Throughout the space vintage accents blend seamlessly with modern style, creating an inviting open-concept atmosphere ideal for both intimate gatherings or larger celebrations.
Stationairy at The Union Station Nashville Yards offers you a distinctive epicurean experience in a welcoming, historic setting.

They always fulfill your needs. The staff is very respectful and help you in anyway possible. “We have a rock and roll lifestyle with a little country twang, experience the “art of music” in our decor and live performances. Music touches everything we do, and our vibe is contagious.” – Kate Thompson, Marketing Director.

If you’re looking for a dining experience in a historical building that is relaxing and serves great food, Carters would be the place to go!
