Drake finally announced his new album Iceman on September 11, 2025 — but of course he didn’t give us an actual release date, because why would he ever make things easy? Fans had already been suspicious something big was coming after he dropped that random 57‑minute YouTube video, Iceman Episode 1, back on July 5.

In the first episode, Drake basically lets us peek into his whole creative process for the album — most of it happening live on Twitch, where he’s been hanging out a lot lately. He also gets pretty real about all the heartbreak and people switching up on him since the whole Kendrick Lamar battle blew up in 2024. At one point he even raps, “It’s love for my brothers and death to a traitor, let’s go,” which… yeah, he’s clearly still in his feelings.
The rollout for Iceman has been kind of wild. He started with a livestream premiering the single “What Did I Miss?”, then followed up with Iceman Episodes 2 and 3 — one dropping July 24 and the next on September 4. It’s giving “mini-series,” honestly.
Even after almost 20 years in the game and like a million awards, this feels like a big moment for Drake again. Iceman is supposed to be his first solo album since the Lamar clash, and he’s clearly trying to make a huge comeback. Plus, he’s headlining all three nights of Wireless Fest 2025 in the U.K., which is basically him saying, “Yeah, I’m still that guy.”
When it finally drops later in 2025, Iceman will be his ninth studio album, released under OVO Sound and Republic Records. Tay Keith and Oz are confirmed to be producing, so you already know the beats are gonna go crazy.
