Touted as the Region 6 decision game, Gallatin versus Hillsboro was set up to be an exciting home football game. And then the rain game, dampening the electric football air at the rescheduled Saturday afternoon game.

Jacob Frazier is a crowd favorite and he sparked the crowds enthusiasm with an early 16 yard rushing touchdown with 11:55 left to go in the first quarter with the point after touchdown (PAT) made by Adam Arron making the score in the at the end of the first, 7-0.

Gallatin answered in the second quarter with a 1 yard run (PAT good) evening the score by the end of the second, 7-7.

The game was less a of an offensive show and more of a defensive professional learning opportunity where both defensive squads racked up so incredible numbers with stand out players such as Joseph Honeysucker with 8 tackles, a sack and 2 tackles for huge losses. Gallatin’s # 3 was ruthlessly everywhere swarming both quarterbacks Darian Williams and Jayden Macon. He had 10 tackles, 4 for a loss of yards and 1 sack.

Both teams adjusted their game more successfully on the defensive side of the ball by being able to aggravate and disrupt any offensive rhythm with team would try to establish offensive.

Hillsboro held Gallatin to a field goal and a touchdown, and in kind, Gallatin held the Burros to only a touchdown in the 4th quarter. The Burros put themselves with in game-winning,  scoring chances twice near the end of the 4th quarter, however, Gallatin’s defense prevailed getting the win 16-14.
