If you like action packed fights, unexpected plot twists, and time bending supernatural abilities you should check out JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5, also known as Golden Wind. The story is set in Italy in 2001. The story begins in the city of Naples and follows the protagonist Giorno Giovanna and his gang as they travel through several Italian locations, including Venice, Capri, and Rome. The manga or the books for the show were written from December 1995 to April 1999 in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in Japan. The show was animated from October 2018 to July 2019 also in Japan. Both the books and the anime were written by Hirohiko Araki.

The main power system in this anime is called a “stand”. A Stand is a physical manifestation of a person’s life energy, or “fighting spirit,” which can be wielded to produce supernatural powers that are unique to each user. Taking on a wide variety of forms, from humanoid figures to everyday objects, the Stand fights on behalf of its user and is typically invisible to non-Stand users.
The link between a Stand and its user is great. The downside is that damage dealt to the Stand is reflected onto the user, and if a Stand is destroyed, its user dies as well.
Dio Brando is the primary antagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure; a power-crazy vampire driven by a desire to conquer the world and achieve “Heaven”. Growing up in poverty and under an abusive father, he becomes a powerful vampire using a Stone Mask, gaining superhuman strength, speed, regeneration, and unique abilities like Stand powers, particularly his Stand, The World. This man is Giorno’s deceased father.
The World is a stand that gives/ Dio the ability to stop time. In this frozen moment, DIO and his Stand can move freely, allowing him to attack his defenseless enemies and reposition himself before time resumes.
Giorno Giovanna, joins the Neapolitan gang Passione, seeking to overthrow its mysterious boss and end its drug trade. With his team of fellow Stand users: Bruno Bucciarati, Guido Mista, Leone Abbacchio, Pannacotta Fugo, and Narancia Ghirga. They protect the boss’ daughter, Trish Una, and fight off elite assassins trying to use Trish as bait to force the boss to come rescue her revealing his identity.
In Italy the show follows, Dio’s son, Giorno Giovanna, he joins a mafia gang called Passione with the goal of overthrowing its mysterious and drug-dealing boss. Alongside his squad led by Bruno Bucciarati, Giorno fights his way up the ranks while protecting the boss’s daughter, Trish Una, from a traitorous assassin team.
Before watching Part 5 it is most recommended watching the earlier episodes of the show. The standard viewing order for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is chronological, following the story parts as they were released. Starting with Part 1: Phantom Blood and Part 2: Battle Tendency, after which each season typically adapts one specific part or chapter of the manga. A proper watch order begins with Season 1 (Parts 1 and 2), followed by Part 3 Stardust Crusaders, Part 4 Diamond is Unbreakable, Part 5 Golden Wind, and finally Part 6 Stone Ocean.

All 6 of the seasons of Jojo’s Bizarre adventures can be streamed on Netflix. Only seasons 1-4 can be streamed on Hulu and Crunchyroll. With season 7 Steel ball run coming within the next year.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a good anime to watch for its wildly unpredictable, mind-bending battles, unique art style, wacky, memorable, and stylish character designs. Exploration of deep themes like selfishness vs. selflessness, and its status as a cultural impact on fans in America.
“All that will survive is the reality of this world. Righteous actions born from reality will never be
annihilated. Bucciarati is dead, and so are Abbacchio and Narancia. But their actions and their wills have not been annihilated. They are the ones who gave me this Arrow. Now, are your actions born of reality? Or are they born of superficial evil? We’re about to find out. In the end, will you be able to escape annihilation? Boss?” Quote from Giorno Giovanna when he confronts the boss on his actions against his daughter.
The arrow that Giorno is referring to is the Requiem Arrow. The requiem arrow is different from the arrow that gives people stands. A requiem arrow is an arrow that the stand user will have to stab themselves with to be able to “enhance” or “evolve” their stand. The requiem arrow has the ability to transform a person’s stand into a new creature, more powerful than its original form. Sadly, this concept of requiem stands disappeared from the series after part 5.
