NASHVILLE – It was a night of pride and celebration at Glencliff High School as the Colts unveiled their brand-new turf field during Homecoming festivities. Alumni, families, and community members packed the stands to witness the dedication ceremony—a milestone for the school and a symbol of progress. But once the game kicked off, the visiting Hillsboro Burros quickly stole the spotlight.
Hillsboro’s offense was relentless, powered by senior running back Donte Perry, who delivered a career night with 181 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on 21 carries. His bruising runs and breakaway speed kept Glencliff’s defense on its heels all evening.
Quarterback Jonathon Fredericks led the offense with poise, completing 8 of 11 passes for 95 yards and adding 60 rushing yards. His deep connection to wide receiver, Javorian Bradford for 49 yards set up a key score in the first half.
On defense, Hillsboro was suffocating. Linebacker Brayden Hightower led the charge with 11 tackles and 2 tackles for loss, while Bradford made his presence felt on both sides of the ball—returning an interception 48 yards for a touchdown to seal the win in the second half.
Despite the lopsided score, Glencliff’s players showed grit and heart, battling through every quarter in front of a roaring home crowd. The Colts have improved significantly over the last two years under Head Coach, CJ Scott. The field dedication marked a new chapter for the Colts, and the community’s support was unwavering.
