Week 3 (September 5th)
High school football is a cultural cornerstone in Tennessee towns. These games bring together students, families, alumni, and local businesses, fostering pride and unity that extend far beyond the field. Early-season games set the tone for the rest of the year. Wins build confidence, while close losses reveal character. These contests shape team identities and playoff trajectories.
Below are the Hillsboro Globe’s choices of games besides our matchup with Nashville East this week.
(#11) 2-0 Brentwood academy vs (#1) 2-0 Baylor
I predict Baylor will beat Brentwood Academy because Baylor has proven itself by beating GA (#9) Rabun Gap Nacoochee Eagles, which is a top ranked team.
(#19) 0-2 Pearl-Cohn vs (#4) 2-0 Battle Ground Academy
I think BGA will beat Pearl-Cohn because they proved to have a dominating offence in the win against (#101) Columbia Academy with the final score being 69-0.
Pearl Cohn played hard against MBA, but I think the domination of BGA’s score last week has them off on the right foot.
(#1MS) 1-0 tupelo vs (#5TN) 2-0 CPA
I think CPA will win because they went 14-0 last year and still have loads of talent this year.
(#6) 2-0 Ravenwood vs (#47) 1-1 Green Hill
I think Ravenwood will win this week because Ravenwood just won off of a tough matchup against (#28) Lipscomb Academy
“This will be a really good game; they both have stellar quarter backs” -Jude Ashley Hillsboro High School quarter back.
(#25) 1-1 Riverdale vs (#22) 2-0 Blackman
I think Riverdale will beat Blackman because Riverdale has a strong offence and their one loss came from a strong (#12) Knoxville Catholic team who regularly contends for a state bid. After that one loss Riverdale beat (#71) Father Ryan 35-0.
