In Full Motion Announces Inaugural Gerald “GJ” Howse Award

In Full Motion is excited to announce Jalen Macon as the 2021 inaugural winner of the Gerald “GJ” Howse Coach’s Award on February 18, 2021.
This award, sponsored by In Full Motion, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to inner city/at-risk youth opportunities to achieve the lofty goal of becoming leaders in the community.
This award presented to a senior student-athlete who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in the midst of adversity in both in the classroom and on the field.
The award is dedicated to and presented in honor of Gerald “GJ” Howse who recently passed at the young age of 28. Howse was a talented student-athlete from middle Tennessee who after a successful DI career as an athlete and as a coach who had earned his graduate degree in Sports Administration was seen as a rising star as a coach and leader of athletes.
Howse’s most recent coaching assignment was as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech University.
Head Coach of the TTU Golden Eagles, Dewayne Alexander, stated, “He was an outstanding coach and a man every coach would want on his staff. Gerald made a huge impact on our players in the short time he was here.”
Macon, chosen for his ability to lead selflessly while at the same time pushing himself to be the best student-athlete he can embody the same perseverance and dedication to the team exemplifies the same leadership characteristics embodied by GJ Howse.
