NASHVILLE. Tenn – TSSAA held its Cross Country State Championship Saturday at beautiful, historic Iroquois Steeplechase Course in Nashville. Metro Nashville Public Schools had one medalist, Sadie Frogge who placed 10th in District I, Small Division. Only the top 15 runners of each division medaled.

High school girls and boys teams from District I and II  participated  on one of the most unique courses in the state of Tennessee. Qualifiers for the State Championship were determined from Regional Championships that were run the previous weekend.

The Iroquois Steeplechase course is located at Percy Warner Park in Nashville and runners run on same course on which the Iroquois Steeplechase horse race is held each spring.

The Steeplechase has been held there since 1941, with the exception of 1945 due to World War II. It is named for “Iroquois,” the first American-bred thoroughbred to win the prestigious British Epsom Derby.

Top runners from each team are listed below. Following are the complete results.
