Lady Burros Capture Sixth Straight District 11-AAA Championship

The Hillsboro High School Lady Burros volleyball team has once again proven its dominance, securing its sixth consecutive District 11-AAA Championship and closing out an impressive season with a 21-11 record and a .656 winning percentage.
The Lady Burros showcased resilience and skill throughout the season, excelling both at home (9-2) and on the road (9-4), while maintaining a near-perfect District 11 AAA record of 13-1. Their offensive firepower was evident with 60 sets won and 597 kills, complemented by a strong defensive presence with 855 digs and 118 total blocks.
Season Highlights

- Finley Fair led the attack with 170 kills and 453 attempts, proving to be a cornerstone of the offense.
- Reese Burtner dominated at the net with 103 kills and contributed 23 solo blocks, making her a defensive force.
- Bailey Evans anchored the back row with an incredible 373 receptions and 58 assists, while also adding 189 serves.
- Emily Hull was a defensive standout, recording 377 receptions and 93 digs, ensuring stability in critical moments.
- Eden Merryman added depth with 162 serves and 219 digs, showcasing versatility.
The team’s serving game was relentless, totaling 1,323 serves and 247 aces, keeping opponents on their heels. Their balanced approach—combining aggressive attacks, strategic blocking, and consistent ball handling—was key to their championship run.

With six straight district titles, the Lady Burros have cemented themselves as a powerhouse in District 11-AAA. As they prepare for 2026 season play, expectations remain high for continued success.
