Hello Burros!

Spread the word! The unveiling of the new signage at the Hillsboro gym will take place on Thursday, November 16, at 4:00 PM, before the Lady Burros play their first home game of the season. Adding Jackie Turner’s name to the gym is one of the steps being taken to honor Miss Turner’s legacy. Miss Turner was a former student at Hillsboro from 1944-1948 where she graduated as her class valedictorian. A few years later, she returned to Hillsboro as a chemistry teacher and the coach of the Womens basketball team. The unveiling will be an opportunity for people to share stories about Miss Turner and honor everything she’s done for the community.

Don’t forget the second opportunity to honor Miss Turner. If you would like to contribute to the Jackie Turner Scholarship Fund please go to The Community Fund of Middle Tennessee HERE. This scholarship will be added to the current award given to a senior girl at Hillsboro who excels at academics, athletics, and leadership.
