Hillsboro Girl Soccer Senior Night!
On Senior night, the Hillsboro Girls Soccer team won Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in a big win against Republic High School with the score of ( 5-0). Four seniors, Lilly Sharpe (#15), Mary Bowers(#17), Olivia Allen (#16), and Veronica Crosby(#23) celebrated with their friends and family at halftime.
The Hillsboro Globe spoke to players how do they think the game will go Lilly Sharpe stated,” We’ve never played Republic before so I have no clue what kind of team they are, but I know what kind of team we are. I think we will play strong and bring home another W!” With their outstanding teamwork they did just that.
These four seniors have worked hard to become great leaders for Hillsboro High school. Since this is their last year for high school there is pro and cons to that, s0 I asked a Lilly Sharpe (#15) how did she feel. She stated,” I have been through everything on this soccer field. I’ve played since I was a freshman, started varsity, and have been injured more than 10 times. I’ve been through some of the toughest losses to the greatest wins… So knowing this is the last time I’ll ever play on the HHS field is really tough to grasp. But I’m glad I can end my soccer career with the best team I’ve ever played on.”
During this wonderful event juniors, from the Lady Burros Soccer Team, helped pass out beautiful gift baskets to each senior with hugs following after.
