Israeli authorities have severed vital services such as water and electricity to the residents of Gaza, while also restricting the entry of essential humanitarian aid. These actions can be classified as war crimes, and they were still occurring at this time. Israeli air strikes targeted Gaza, striking schools and hospitals, and turning areas of the city into ruins, including in operations that appeared to be unlawful. They mandated the evacuation of all individuals from northern Gaza, resulting in the displacement of approximately 85 percent of Gaza’s population, around 1.9 million people. According to Gaza authorities, over 64,650 Palestinians have lost their lives, the majority of whom were civilians, including more than 20,000 children.
So how does our high school think about this situation? Hillsboro students may have an opinion on the subject, and they should be able to speak their opinion.
