Lady Burros 2020 Volleyball team opens season 3-1; Play Overton Friday at 4

Nashville, TN – Head coach Sarah Rucker is thrilled to get the season kicked off – finally. The Lady Burro’s season record is 3-1 dropping its first loss at Dickson County earlier this week.
After sacrificing the practice space in the gym and the setbacks created by Covid 19, it would be easy to understand if the team said the season was a wash.
However, The Lady Burros have done no such thing taking to the court and earning enough wins to play in the district tournament. They practice outside, in makeshift area of neighboring churches and online virtually as a team.
Building camaraderie is a top priority for Coach Rucker and Assistant Coach Ashley Raby. When no gym was available, players participated in online classes that included Zumba and yoga. The bonding, although virtual, doesn’t seem to have held back any of the seniors.
Hillsboro ends this year’s regular-season Friday taking on district rival Overton High School. The game time is 4:00 pm at Overton High School.
