National Day: National Thesaurus Day

January 18 is National Thesaurus Day! While is it strange to give a Thesaurus a whole day for recognition, the Thesaurus is remarkably important! Thanks to Peter Mark Roget, since 1852, people all over the globe have had access to English words and phrases. You know that feeling when your English teacher asks you to find words to describe something other than the words “very”, “tons”, or even “a lot”? Because of Roget, the Thesaurus has answers for that! From synonyms to antonyms, the Thesaurus is the reason why we can sound sophisticated in our writing!
